STRUCTURE
The International Vitamin Conference (IVC) is driven by enthusiastic vitamin researchers, and is financially based on conference fees, sponsorships and other financial support. The continuity of the IVC is maintained and directed through the Steering and Scientific Committee (SSC). The Chair and the vice-chair of the SSC are the official representatives for IVC. The IVC meetings are held every second year, or less frequently, as decided by the SSC.
Changes in the information of the present description can be recommended by any SSC member. Changes will become effective if agreed (unity) at the physical meeting of SSC at an IVC.
MISSION & OBJECTIVES
Vitamins are organic compounds that are essential for normal growth and nutrition and are required in small quantities in the diet because they cannot be synthesized by the body. While the 13 individual vitamins and their respective vitamers each have unique properties, there are also many common themes across vitamins.
IVC is the sole community to facilitate cross-talk among producers, analysts, policy makers and multi-disciplinary researchers with a common interest in vitamins and their metabolites.
The mission of the IVC is to promote vitamin research, which includes their role in health and disease, mechanisms of action, accurate measurement, and optimal intake.
The objectives being:
EACH IVC
Each IVC consists of six sessions of which one will provide a holistic view on one of the vitamins, and one session will focus on analytical challenges.
Prior to an IVC, a Young Scientist Camp for students, post docs (PhD-grade <5 years) is arranged by a committee of young scientists primarily from institutions which SSC members are affiliated to.

Local Organising Committee (LOC)
The LOC is responsible
Advisory committee (AC)
Former members of LOC’s and the SSC will be encouraged to join the Advisory Committee (AC) by the Chair of SSC. Participants in an IVC or other conferences focused on vitamin may contact the Chair to become member of AC. AC members assist the LOC by commenting the draft for the next IVC, take part in the ranking of the abstracts submitted for the conference, and if relevant in the review of manuscripts for the publication based on presentation at IVC. The AC members will be requested to serve for 5 years.
Communication Channels
The website (vitaminconference.com) is continuously updated.
Maintenance will be made in a CMS system and ownership of the website system belongs to DTU. Access can be handed over to the LOC or the website can be managed by Boesen & Co ApS. Support etc. will be managed of Boesen & Co ApS. Structure and templates of the website must be followed.
Signing up on the newsletter list is open to all persons engaged in or interested in the study and/or use of vit-amins in general. This ensures receiving information on IVC by mail.
The SSC will for each IVC discuss the appropriate and the possibilities to publish papers based on presentation at the IVC. If decided members of the SSC will be appointed to act as guest editors, reflecting a diversity of expertise to evaluate appropriately the diverse fields contained in the submitted papers.
The policy for accept-ing manuscripts for the special issue will be established by the guest editors. Papers based on oral presenta-tions and posters will be equally considered for publication.
